It has been an amazing year with so many amazing stories. We want to share them with you.
Letter From Pastor
I have been so impressed with the Edmonds Adventist Church this last year. It has been a whirlwind year! Debbie and I were delightfully greeted by this warm and caring church family. We had the opportunity to witness this church in action. We shared a milestone celebration with the 50th anniversary of our facility. Including all the revitalizations we did with coating the striping the parking lot, power washing the moss, weeding and restoration to the patios with new furniture, painting and restoring the restrooms and more.
We experienced a number of outreach events with the Taste of the Nations, July 50th Birthday Community Funfair, Operation Christmas Child, and Trunk or Treat. Not to mention all the food and items distributed through the Blessing Box Ministry.
Children's Ministries volunteers were busy with Easter Egg Hunts, Prayer Journaling, Children’s Sabbath’s, Vacation Bible School, Youth Week of Prayer and our amazing (and growing) Pathfinder and Adventurer Clubs and their outstanding leadership. Let’s also remember our great schools and staff at Cypress SDA, Kirkland SDA and Puget Sound Adventist Academy.
We didn't forget to have fun this year also, with the annual corn roast at the Hylarides farm and all-church retreat at Rosario Beach Marine Laboratory. Mix that with great Sabbath worships, music, fellowship and our intercessory prayer group. God has blessed this church with amazing talent and leadership. Edmonds can look forward to a very bright future with a young pastoral couple arriving with the New Year as we seek the power of the Holy Spirit to continue to change and fill our hearts and lives and the lives of those in our community.

Mission Work
We participated in more local outreach work this year than ever before!
Jesus called us to help those in need, and that is exactly what we did.
Feeding Ministry
The feeding ministry is an outreach project spearheaded by Alphonso McGhee. It includes a free food pantry, "Blessing Bag" kits of snacks and vital supplies for the homeless, and holiday gift and food baskets. In 2022, our members contributed food, items, and $1,860 in funds to support this ministry and the Pathfinders helped pack over 100 blessing bags this spring!
Trunk or Treat
This year we had more than 70 families visit our annual children's ministries Trunk or Treat Event! The Pathfinders raised only $95 dollars toward their International Camporee trip in 2024 because they chose to give most of their food away for free to the hungry kids and parents who came. We were able to pass out many applications to needy families at this event for them to request holiday baskets of gifts and food and we were able to help twelve of these families.
Nursing Home Visitation
The Edmonds Evergreen Pathfinders visited Pacifica Senior Living Center in the spring and fall of 2022. We spent several hours each time singing worship songs and helping the residents with crafts.
Vacation Bible School
Forty-three children attended Monumental VBS at Edmonds Adventist Church July 25-29, 2022. VBS Celebration Sabbath on July 30 became one of our best attended worship services this year. Over the course of the VBS week, kids prayed for the first time and teens and young adults led crews of kids and various activity stations.
Operation Christmas Child
Our church packed 64 boxes in our October shoebox packing party, with an additional 3 boxes brought in later and 6 additional boxes packed online through our shoebox goal page. The Edmonds Evergreen Pathfinders volunteered at the shoebox drop off location at Calvary Chapel Edmonds and a couple other church members volunteered on two additional days during shoebox drop off week. Our church helped contribute to the more than 3,000 shoeboxes that were packed in the Edmonds/Lynnwood area.

Jesus told us to "Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation". Our heart's desire is to fulfill this command every day and make a difference in our community.
Our Goals for 2023
We are approaching next year with the mindset of evangelism. We want to take our local outreach to the next level, and we want even more people to experience the love of Jesus firsthand through our church. Personal evangelism, homeless ministry, and children's activities will be the focus of our outreach efforts.
We believe in what God is doing at our church, and we want people to come and see for themselves. In 2022, average weekly church attendance increased from 84 to 91, an 8.3% increase, and we gained 7 new members through transfers and baptisms. But church growth isn't just about increasing average attendance or membership numbers, it's about leading people in a maturing new relationship with Christ. In 2023, we want to feed people spiritually by reigniting small group ministry, including new member support and baptismal study groups.
Each of the ministries our local church engages in, as well as the statewide, national, and global ministries of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, would not be possible without the support of our faithful givers. In 2023, we are looking to increase participation by increasing education and communication about how donations are used, as well as participating in Reliable Generosity's $1 giving campaign.

"Friendly and caring church members; caring pastor. Services are more lively than what we were used to, but we would never switch to another church. Definitely what we were looking for. Been a member for 3 years now. Very thankful for them."
